Our Founder, In Memoriam
Walter Franklin Terry, 1913-2007

Walter started this company in 1965 after retiring from Sears, Roebuck & Co.  While with Sears, Walter built and managed the Griggs Street Warehouse.  On retiring he asked several of the people in positions similar to his if they had interest in a company that would supply them all the equipment that was difficult and expensive to obtain in the quantities each had to purchase separately.  The answer was yes, and he did, and here we are.

Thank you, Walter Terry!

Next Generation....

Let us introduce ourselves.  We are Lynn & Dave Ryberg.  Lynn met Walter Terry for the first time when she was 2 weeks old.  He had come to Chicago to a meeting at Sears parent offices with Lynn's father.
They were great friends.  At that time she was presented with the key to Texas.  What she didn't know then was that Walter was to be her step-father.  After the passing of both spouses he married Lynn's mother.  In 1977, Lynn and Dave took Walter up on the key idea and moved to Texas to join him in Walter Terry Distributor, Inc.  The years past and the company grew and when Walter decided to retire at 89, he sold the business to us.  Lynn is now President and Dave is Vice-President and General Manager.
With over 50 years in business, we at Walter Terry Distributor, Inc. want to thank all of our customers for helping us to build what we have today.  We have transitioned to a new location and added a new generation in ownership, but we still the same phone number after 50 years -- 713-227-6369.  Thank you in advance for your continued patronage.  We look forward to more years of working together.
Third Generation....

As we turned 50, we also passed the torch to the next generation.  David, Jr., is our new President.  It is amazing that even though they were not blood relatives David & Walter are very much alike; perhaps it is because they are both "Leos"…
HELLO, I AM DAVID A RYBERG, JR., THE THIRD GENERATION TO THIS STORY.  GROWING UP, I HAD NUMEROUS SUMMER JOBS WORKING IN THE FAMILY BUSINESS WITH MY DAD AND WALTER, MY GRANDFATHER.  AFTER HIGH SCHOOL I CHOOSE A DIFFERENT ROUTE BY LEARNING A TRADE AS AN ELECTRICIAN.  IN 1998, I CAME ON FULL TIME FOR ABOUT TEN YEARS, AND THEN I THOUGHT I FOUND A GREENER PASTURE, BUT IT TOO HAD FAULTS.  SO AUG 14, 2014, I CAME BACK TO HELP MOM AND DAD, THEY TOO RETIRED AND NOW IT'S MY TURN TO CARRY THE TORCH FOR WALTER.   SO HERE IS TO A GREAT IDEA A GREAT MAN ONCE HAD!

THANKS, WALTER…
